# What is the CRM?

> One record per phone number, shared by your voice agents, chat agents and workflows

The CRM keeps one **contact** for every phone number you talk to, whether that conversation happened on a call, on WhatsApp, or both. Every part of Callkaro reads and writes the same record: a voice agent's post-call analysis, a chat agent mid-conversation, a workflow, a CSV upload, and anyone on your team editing it by hand.

Open it from **Dashboard → CRM**. It has two tabs:

| Tab | What it is for |
| - | - |
| **Leads** | Every contact, one row each, with a column per attribute. Upload, filter, edit, open the chat, and assign contacts to an agent or a workflow. |
| **Attributes** | The fields a contact can hold: name, type, whether the AI may update it, and its default. |

## How a contact is shaped

A contact is a phone number plus the **attributes** you define, such as `city`, `email`, `lead_stage` or `budget`. There are no built-in fields beyond the phone number and the channels the person has used (`call`, `whatsapp`), so the CRM holds exactly what your business tracks and nothing else.

Each stored value remembers where it came from:

| Source | Written by |
| - | - |
| `manual` | Someone editing the contact in the CRM |
| `llm` | The AI extracting it from a call or chat, e.g. a chat agent's `update_contact` |
| `function` | A chat agent's custom function, or a workflow's **Update Contact** node |
| `call` | A voice agent's post-call **Update Contacts** rules |
| `import` | A CSV upload |
