Choose a Header Type (Optional)
The header appears at the top of the message. Choose from:
For Image, Video, or Document headers, upload your file directly in the builder. The platform uploads it to Meta’s servers and stores the resulting handle — you do not need to re-upload the file each time the template is sent.
4
Write the Body (Required)
The main message content. Use
{{1}}, {{2}}, {{3}} etc. for dynamic values that change per recipient. Variables must be sequential starting from {{1}}.For each variable you add, a sample value field appears below it — fill it in with a realistic example.5
Add a Footer (Optional)
A short line at the very bottom — for example, “Thank you for choosing us.” Cannot contain variables.
6
Add Buttons (Optional)
Track Clicks on URL buttons:
- ON — Click counts are visible in the Templates dashboard. The URL must be a fixed link.
- OFF — No click count, but you can embed positional variables directly in the URL (useful for per-customer unique links like tracking codes).
7
Submit for Approval
Click “Save” to submit to Meta for review.
Category Tips
Meta automatically assigns UTILITY or MARKETING (or AUTHENTICATION) based on your content. UTILITY templates reach far more customers. To help Meta classify your template as UTILITY:- Avoid sales words — don’t use “sale,” “buy,” “discount,” or “offer.” Use factual language: “We have received your inquiry about our product.”
- Use positional variables —
{{1}}for the customer’s name,{{2}}for a date, etc. Personalised messages are more likely to be classified as UTILITY.
